schedule will be Monday - Friday, with hours anywhere between 7am -
6pm EST / 6am - 5pm CST ** Patient Financial Counseling Specialist
is a key role within healthcare organizations, helping patients
navigate the financial aspects of their care. The job primarily
involves assisting patients with billing, insurance verification,
financial assistance programs, and payment plans, ensuring that
they understand and can manage the costs associated with their
treatment.Verify patients' insurance coverage, ensuring that the
practice has the necessary information to bill
correctly.Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any
issues or discrepancies in coverage.Help patients understand their
insurance coverage, including what is covered, co-pays,
deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.Receive and process insurance
information and forms from patients and insurance
companies.Establish payment arrangements with the patient and
document appropriately in the practice management system.Discuss
payment arrangements with patients for outstanding patient
balances.Provide guidance on payment options and financial
assistance programs, such as charity care, to make medical bills
more manageable.Serve as a point of contact for patients with
questions about their bills, helping to clarify charges and
providing detailed explanations of the financial aspects of their
care.Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsHigh School
Diploma or equivalentPrevious Healthcare experienceExcellent
written and verbal communication skillsExcellent computer skills
including Excel, Word, and RCM systems as needed. Highly organized,
detail-orientated, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated teamwork
skills.Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. USD $21.00/Hr. USD
